Rayleigh Vineyard, Essex UK, is a non-religious church, mainly for people who want to get to know a bit more about God but who wouldn't normally go to a traditional church to do so. Take a look around this site to find out more…
Teddy Bear’s Picnic
Vineyard Kids went down to the woods last week for a big surprise. Hockley Woods to be exact enjoying a fun day out and a very special picnic with teddy bears for company. Wednesday 2 June saw us having fun in the blazing sun, with games, prizes, free kids lunch, treats etc all with a teddy bear theme. There were prizes for the cutest teddy bear and the most loved (and well worn) teddy bear. For more pics follow this link. We have regular kids events to join in with, most of them free events. Our next events planned are a cinema trip to see Shrek 4ever after and then “Super Kids Sunday” and a free trip to the Science Museum (both in August). Prophecy … its the Writing on the Wall
Sunday Morning Talks at the Vineyard. Do you ever ask yourself the question “what on earth does the Bible have to say to us today?”? How can a 2,000 year old text be relevant to my life here and now? As you delve deeper into the Bible, one of the most striking things is how much the people who lived then are like the people who live now. When God inspired the Bible to be written down all those years ago he knew that the problems and issues the folk faced in that era are common to all ages.
We are currently looking at the subject of Prophecy, with a sub-title of “its the Writing on the Wall”. That’ reference to a famous story in the Bible (Book of Daniel chapter 5) where God spoke to a whole empire through the King at the time in a very dramatic way. We are exploring ways that God speaks to us today, and we’re doing practical sessions after the talks inviting people to hear from God and to repeat what they think he is saying. Jesus said “I only do what I see the Father doing”. The Bible talks about us doing good works that God has planned for us to do in advance. This includes prophecy.

Easter Egg Treasure Hunt
Danbury Lakes was the venue for our Good Friday Easter Egg search. A coach ride to the Lakes and a free kids lunch were followed by a slightly muddy (!) search for those elusive eggs.
Large eggs, small eggs, colourful eggs, Kinder eggs were all spread around the park for 30 sets of young eyes and fingers to discover. Parachute games and a nature search were the exciting games providing prizes galore. A swift walk back to the coach allowed us to avoid the forecasted rain and stay warm and dry-ish for the journey home. Next Planet Kids event is the Teddy Bear’s picnic at half term.
