GLO

Glologo

GLO (Girls Living Out) is a non-profit organisation headed up by Faye Porter through the guidance of Rayleigh Vineyard and Avanti Ministries.

Having found her early teens a tough time it is now Faye’s passion to work and spend time with girls, helping them get through whatever they face and to help them see themselves as the brilliant people they actually are, despite what other people may have told, are telling and will tell them. The Bible says that ‘we are fearfully and wonderfully made’ (Psalm 139), it does not matter about our height, size, colour, background or dress sense, we are beautiful, loved and significant!

We currently run events called GLO Gatherings for 10-16yr olds every three weeks. This is a very basic idea but has the potential to be really effective for the girls that come along. We meet in a modern café in Southend called Utopia where we have the whole upstairs to ourselves to relax, play games and chat. The aim is to bring these girls together to hang out, have a laugh, make friends, to support them and for them to become a support to each other. Every girl gets a free milkshake too!
