WHY DO WE SUPPORT WOMEN'S REFUGE?
We support Changing Pathways a domestic abuse charity working across the areas of Basildon, Brentwood, Castle Point, Rochford and Thurrock, providing free and confidential services to support people who are currently experiencing, or have previously experienced domestic abuse. A range of needs is provided with services including refuge accommodation, outreach/community based support, advocacy services for high risk victims, including those experiencing stalking and harassment, therapeutic/counselling services and a range of group programmes.
Rayleigh Vineyard have found that a lot of our other Compassion Projects generate resources that can easily support our local women’s refuge. GrowBaby provides clothes, Seasonal Hampers provide gifts, Mother’s Day outreach provides flowers, Christmas and Easter projects provides children’s sweets. Therefore we like to support them in these small but meaningful ways.
WHY DO WE LOVE IT SO MUCH?
Providing a safe refuge for women who can benefit from the Refuge’s outreach is a wonderful help and we want to get involved in any way we see practically to do this. Jesus said, “I was in need and you helped me”. He encourages us to help those who struggle to help themselves, as though we were doing it for Jesus.
HOW DO I CONNECT AND GET INVOLVED?
We welcome donations of women’s clothes and children’s toys for us to pass on. You could also sponsor a Seasonal Hamper. You can donate financially here http://www.rayleighvineyard.org/connect/
Due the sensitive nature of this project we cannot provide any further details regarding the refuge and those it cares for.
